Position Summary

The Director, Executive Communications, will be responsible for developing content for BMS leaders for speaking opportunities, media engagements, videos, and written communications. This is a strategic role that provides significant opportunities for executive visibility, global collaboration, and business impact.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Writing content for BMS leaders for both internal and external audiences.
  • Developing compelling copy that captures readers’ attention across a variety of mediums and channels, including emails, blogs, and presentations that maintain the executive and organization brand voice and style.
  • Serving as lead to ensure BMS leadership opportunities to communicate (town halls, GLT meetings, video, email etc.) are bar raising in both content and delivery.
  • Bringing rigor to our approach to external communications requests and opportunities and enact a repeatable rhythm of the business for prioritizing and delivering on these storytelling efforts.
  • Working cross-functionally and globally and advising and preparing relevant materials to ensure they are of the highest quality (including Global Town Halls, country visit materials, presentations and talking points).
  • Producing briefing materials for executives and other internal leaders when attending internal and external events, ensuring the corporate narrative and messaging comes through.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate communications in corporate or agency setting.
  • Experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, exceptional storytelling, and the ability to clearly articulate complex issues and formulate recommendations to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ambitious, self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, effectively manages priorities.
  • Experience working with C-suites and other leaders.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills to successfully and independently work across many teams and functions.
  • High integrity, capable of excellent judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information.
