Medical Affairs AP/CP Pathologist (Molecular Training Desirable)

INDIANA, INDIANAPOLIS (USA). Labcorp Drug Development is seeking a pathologist with board certification / eligibility in anatomic and clinical pathology. Additional BC/BE, particularly in Molecular Genetic Pathology, is desirable (but not required). Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with clients at meetings and conferences. Working on the Medical Affairs team involves frequent collaboration with a group of pathologists and colleagues at our locations in the US, EU and Asia/Pacific. Duties include supporting anatomic pathology, providing leadership in areas of expertise (e.g., molecular pathology), and offering consultative medical guidance to our internal colleagues, sponsors and investigators.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee medical decision-making and fulfill laboratory and regulatory functions.

  • Collaborate in global trials involving whole slide imaging and artificial intelligence platforms.

  • Participate in the review and approval of new test offerings and service feasibilities.

  • Review and interpret laboratory testing (SPEP, IFE, anatomic pathology, molecular pathology).

  • Provide leadership in areas of subspecialty expertise (molecular genetic pathology, other).

  • Review digital images and microscopic slides (mainly IHC & ISH, H&E, lesion identification).

  • Participate in investigator meetings or client visits to provide medical support for trials.

  • Analyze and respond to clients’ medical and pathology-related inquiries.

  • Implement quality standards and help assure regulatory and legal compliance.

  • Collaborate in development/validation of methods and selection of appropriate tests.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Board certification / eligibility in anatomic and clinical pathology.

  • Additional board certification / eligibility, particularly in molecular pathology, is a plus.

  • Ability to effectively interact with clients at meetings and conferences.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
