Job Description
Aetna Better Health of Florida (ABH-FL) is seeking a Senior Manager, Community Development & Outreach, located in northern Florida (e.g., Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Gainesville). This position takes the lead in identifying external partners (stakeholders in community-based organizations, political affiliates, provider and member-related organizations) and building the partner relationship in order to serve the interests of our members, clients and business goals. This position coordinates with a southern-Florida peer, reports directly to the ABH-FL CEO, and is collaboratively responsible for successful execution of the community development strategy throughout the state.
A thorough knowledge of Florida Medicaid and its core agency, community and political constituencies is essential; preference given to someone with existing relationships that serve Medicaid populations and providers. You will have experience with difficult-to-reach consumer populations in rural communities as is prevalent in north Florida. The manager will also work closely with the health plan’s senior management team to develop and execute a variety of community outreach, media, and public relations programs to support the health plan’s marketing efforts.
• Assists with the collaboration of government program coordination by directing outreach staff to ensure the outreach & marketing plan(s) comply with State contract guidelines.
• Assists with the development of all marketing and promotional materials; ensures all materials receive approval by the State.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive outreach & marketing plans for the health plan’s community relations activities to promote regional government program membership growth and retention, including advertising, social media, direct mail, product enhancement and development, and benefit design.
• Identifies key community organizations and coordinates efforts to participate, educate and promote the health plan presence within the community.
• Develops and implements programs, such as health and wellness initiatives, for each region to generate media coverage.
• Coordinates community and public relations events.
• Manages the government programs eligibility determination and recertification staff as necessary.
• Manages the territory budget; controls expenses while meeting performance requirements.
• Recruits, develops, motivates staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Collaborates on community projects and programs with our participating provider groups.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 75,400
Maximum: 158,300

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of seven years’ recent and related experience in community relations working with diverse underserved populations or related field. Must have good public speaking abilities. FL Medicaid requires a valid Florida Health Insurance License (2-15 or 2-18) for this position. This position includes travel and working on weekends and participating in evening events and activities.

*Must be willing to relocate yourself to Florida and be based out of in the Northern half of Florida (Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Pensacola)

Education
Bachelor degree in a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Related copywriting and proofreading experience Minimum of one year of recent and related supervisory or project lead experience
