Our Minnetonka, MN location is seeking a high caliber, motivated, self-driven individual to join our manufacturing engineering team, supporting 2nd shift operations.

Individuals in this role will support the operations team as a front-line engineer working with assemblers and troubleshooting equipment and process issues. Additionally, this position will manage projects aimed towards designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Front line engineer supporting operations team
  • Manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions. Additional responsibilities include:
    • Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technicians
    • Conduct Process FMEAs and Process Validations
    • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts
    • Coordinate design improvements, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery and equipment
  • Initiate and complete technical activities and reports
  • Work within a cross-functional team to troubleshoot and address issues on the production floor including non-conformances identified

Individual should:

  • Be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction
  • Have excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical or any engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience. Prior manufacturing engineering experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings
  • Ability to lead and motivate peers, drive change and problem solve with creativity
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Results oriented, Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.

Preferred

  • Medical device experience preferred, but not required
