As an Electrician, you will operate, maintain and install electrical equipment used for the operation and security of the Biological vaccine Facility and supporting infrastructure.

Safely operate, PM, Repair and maintain in good and safe operating order the main utility electrical distribution networks at the 69kv and 12.47kv substations as well as the electrical distribution and control systems to 480 volts including but not limited to transformers, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, starters, soft starts, VFD’s, motor control centers, UPS’s (Rotary and Battery), Emergency Generators, Transfer switches, contactors, control instrumentation and security equipment.
Use building electrical distribution drawings, schematic, logic, single line drawings to diagnose electrical failures to 69kv.Use electrical drawings for new or expanding building projects and installation or relocating new or used equipment. Red line all drawings as changes are made to buildings and/or equipment.
Troubleshoot and Repair all types of electrical equipment failures including but not limited to 69kv air breakers, 69kv to 12.47kv transformers, substation breakers and controls, 480 volt motor control centers, AC and DC motors, contactors, capacitors, transformers, process equipment and electronic control system devices including variable speed motor controllers, signal transmitters and converters. Use schematic or logic diagrams and diagnostic instruments to locate control system malfunctions.
Plan and layout work while determining material requirements for Installation, troubleshooting, modifying and repair of new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, conduits, transformer controls and equipment.
Safely shut down electrical systems and/or equipment to allow for inspections, renovations, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting of process control instruments and related systems. By performing preventative and predictive maintenance to all assigned equipment and make recommendations for maintenance frequencies and tasks necessary to enhance equipment operation, life, and maintainability.
Work with Vendors and Suppliers to get quotes to initiate the purchasing process for required goods and services and by identifying and specifying replacement parts and materials to complete assigned tasks.
Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA70E, GSK EHS safety procedures and all applicable regulations, standard operating procedures, and industry practices.
Assist all departments within GSK LTS (EHS, Utilities, Instrumentation, HVAC/R, Engineering, Validation and Automation) in determining an analytical sequence and actions to be taken during mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repair operations. Assist with any required documentation that would be required to complete assigned tasks.
Specific training in NFPA70E arc flash requirements, High Voltage tools (PPE Gear, Metering, Hot Sticks, Grounding, Opening and closing 69kv air breaks) LOTO,
Assist with writing and/or reviewing LSOP’s and related documents in your field of expertise.
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
High school degree or equivalent
3+ years experience as a maintenance electrician in an industrial environment with plant systems to 480 volts and power distribution to 69kv
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Trade school degree, apprenticeship, equivalent on-the-job training or experience preferred
Specific training in NFPA70E arc flash requirements, High Voltage tools (PPE Gear, Metering, Hot Sticks, Grounding), microprocessors, automatic machine control, and programmable logic controllers.
Proficiency in electrical practices of the measurement, indication, transmission, recording and a proficiency of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic principles associated with AC & DC motor control process control instrumentation.
Knowledge of standards laboratory metrology principles for electrical measurements.
2 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical, food or research facility preferred
Demonstrated familiarity and compliance with cGMP's, EHS procedures and regulations, facility regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order System preferred.
The aptitude to effectively troubleshoot and correct problems with a variety of piping systems and associate equipment.
Prefer a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Prefer the ability to become site forklift and skid loader certified within 90 days of hire.
Work within a Multi-skilled team.
Work closely with shift team to achieve goals in a 24/7 cGMP Production Environment.
Maintain attention to detail, while completing multiple or repetitive tasks.
Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines
Maintain a high level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities.
Position may require employees to work in a 24/7 rotational schedule. This schedule will include holidays, and weekends; over-time may be required. Position will require working on other tasks as assigned by management outside the electrical field, independently or with other crafts on as needed basis
