Job Description
Be a key member of the Enterprise Analytics Group. Work with a variety of business partners from across the enterprise to both support the development of innovative programs to improve patient outcomes as well as reduce cost and improve efficiency across CVS.

Primarily responsible for developing machine learning and other advanced models that drive business outcomes across CVS.

CVS Health’s Data Strategy – will be responsible for accelerating the pace of innovation at CVS Health with high-impact actionable analysis and reporting.

The Sr. Manager is a key role in the organization. This Individual will be responsible for planning and executing high impactful projects that lead to actionable insight generation through big data advanced analytics like predictive analytics and machine learning. Will lead large cross functional initiative and partner with product and project management teams, solution architects, business and various other stake holders.

Drive data engineering initiatives that includes but not limited to gathering/compiling, synthesizing data needs from different stake holders, analyze source systems like CVS dispensing system, patient data repositories, SFDC, Teradata data warehouse, insurance etc. and lead/actively participate building conformed scalable data layer and product layer that will support multitude of products.

Collaborate with various teams and business partners and plan key deliverables, timeline and present overall data strategy, infer business needs and guide the technical teams to align with proposed data strategy. He may also play the Technical Project/Program Owner i.e. Overall Technical Lead for the initiative.

Candidate should have the aptitude to understand new functional areas within healthcare domain, interact with both business and technical teams, strategize and present solutions to solve real business problems. Position requires strong health care knowledge, experience in data processing/analytics area and excellent communications and coordination/follow through skills.

Responsible for coordinating with business, understanding the requirements, and laying down the solution that aligns with over all data strategy. Additionally, he/she will guide the IT project team to ensure that solutions being built are as per design implementation.

Additionally, he/she is responsible for working to build the data layer to support reporting/dash boarding and high end analytics.

Provide leadership and guidance on critical initiatives and will manage the relationship between IT and business owners to ensure that the IT department is proactively identifying and providing strategic opportunities to advance the business goals of the area through technology.

Responsibilities:
1. Collect, analyze, and synthesize complex information from disparate sources into a single reporting view/data layer using SQL or similar tools. Summarize results and present findings to our non-analytic audiences
2. Conduct analyses of data, ranging from descriptive ad-hoc analyses to in-depth investigations of healthcare utilization trends/outcomes and prepare data summarization presentation for review by leadership team and key stakeholders
3. Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to conduct quality assurance testing on data from initial delivery to final merged product to ensure results are accurate and aligned with documented requirements
4. Support analytics and skill development of team by sharing knowledge, developing and sharing new technical skills, and providing guidance and mentorship to other team members.
5. Ensure proper maintenance and centralized storage of key project documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, design documents, test plans, etc.
6. Construct and deliver written reports of analytic findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, including visualization of data and findings), formulate recommendations, and effectively present results to stakeholders
7. Lead discussions on data ingestion standardization, data conformance/quality and audit balance control
8. Build data semantic layer, test, validate and present to analytical and reporting team.
9. Design/develop data security model, views, tables for specific business use cases.
10. Build innovative, scalable, parameterized, efficient solutions around data
11. Provide architecture and solutioning help in large scale distributed systems, especially those involving Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases and analytical programming languages (Python/R).
12. Provide detailed estimations with assumptions to implement the solutions. Present solutions/approach, estimations etc. to leadership and steering committee.
13. Document and lead design reviews, provide inputs to the design changes.
14. Contribute during the design workshops on Hadoop based data management and job flows
15. Manage customer expectations through effective communication of timely status updates.
16. Take ownership of own work as well as teams, and be accountable for the quality of work done.
17. Work with PMO, Business and IT stake holders on multiple projects/programs and large initiatives
18. Explore new technologies in the big data domain

Required Qualifications
• At least 12 years of hands-on experience in architecture, design or development of enterprise applications and integration
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a professional IT Role with ability to mentor team members
• At least 8 to 10 years of experience in projects development & delivery
• 3+ years’ experience with Hadoop project development and implementation.
• In depth understanding of BI and Analytics Solution Architecture
• Strong knowledge of UNIX Shell Scripting, SQL (using Teradata or Oracle, SQL Server), Python/R
• Strong knowledge of architecture and design patterns and the ability to apply them
• Strong people management skills. Ability to evaluate the performance of the resources and provide timely feedback and work with the resources to improve productivity and efficiency of the team and mentor team members as needed.
• Experience building functional and technical design specifications
• Proven leadership skills around resource planning, delegating, estimating and prioritizing work.
• 3+ years of experience working on healthcare domain data.
• Demonstrated ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, to audiences at senior leadership levels.
• Proven success maximizing the potential of employees via coaching and focused development.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibit leadership behavior which supports the business and technology goals through creative thinking and strong problem management
• Ability to handle multiple competing tasks in an ordered manner, prioritizing to ensure business deliverables are met.

Education
12+ years of IS/IT experience and Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Math or related field.
Preferred Masters Degrees in BIS
