If so, the Enterprise Architecture Director might be the position for you!

As Enterprise Architecture Director you will be responsible for leading opportunity identification and analysis, problem definition, and overseeing the development and deployment of advanced analytic tools and methods within the Data Science and Solutions teams. You will also be accountable for delivering world-class data science outcomes, solving complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches with a unique blend of analytical, mathematical and technical skills on programming languages that are used in big data environments.

  • Market breakthrough analytics solutions through adoption of big data, cloud native technologies, machine learning, and data science
  • Participate in design and engineering of analytics solutions that have significant strategic impact and achieve long term competitive advantage for GSK
  • Partner with business leaders to provide expert technical advice and influence strategic decision making
  • Apply data mining and machine learning techniques while performing statistical analysis and building high quality prediction systems integrated with GSK products
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for architecture principles balanced with tactical timelines, costs, and risks
  • Contribute to architecture guiding principles, development standards, training, and hiring
  • Promote newly developed best practices, architecture patterns, and software development frameworks & techniques with other teams within the organization
  • Responsible for reliability and scalability; ensure architectures and frameworks created perform under load and at scale in on-premise horizontally scalable environments

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with Hadoop, Relational Databases, streaming, and batch data processing
  • Experience with SQL competency
  • Experience with software version control, configuration management, and release management principles
  • Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, or C++
  • Experience with at least one of the following scripting languages: Python, Bash, or Perl

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Master’s degree or above
  • Experience with Impala, Hive, Docker, R, Python, Spark, and other big data technologies
  • Experience with various third-party vendor solutions such as StreamSets, H2O, BI reporting solutions, ETL solutions etc, search engines
  • Strong understanding and experience with Linux internals and administration and Linux Filesystem management
