The Opportunity

The Sr. IT Business Analyst provides MES deployment and system support to local manufacturing business teams. Works directly with clients and applies IT, business knowledge and experience to determine process alignment with MES system, deliver training of MES functionality, and determines root causes of any issues encountered by the manufacturing business teams while utilizing the MES software to manufacture product.

  • Primary liaison between the IT and business area.

  • Analyzes business processes; elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and makes recommendations that are best for the company overall.

  • Works directly with clients and applies IT and business knowledge and experience to develop and understand the business case and business requirements to solve for technology related business problems.

  • Translates business requirements for system changes into functional requirements; performs data and process modeling; manages change.

  • Leads and coordinates testing; Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete, performs verification, and user acceptance.

  • Conducts training; Assists in preparing, developing, and conducting training of clients and super users, and supports training of end users.

  • Leads department level initiatives or provides assistance to Program or Project managers on phases of a larger project.

  • Perform project management activities including maintenance of project schedules to ensure tasks are completed within scheduled timeframe.

  • Provides system support to end users and administrators to resolve business and technical problems.

  • Identifies trends and recommends proactive solutions to recurring issues.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Performs work using existing standards, methodologies and processes and understands other systems/business processes relationship to each other.

  • Partners with Corporate service providers and IT partners to investigate alternatives, which use existing applications.

  • Identifies, proposes, initiates, and leads implementation of process improvements. Makes recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve process improvement objectives

  • Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving. Work is reviewed for soundness of business judgment and to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved. Determines and develops approach to problems.

  • Maintains productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function to ensure effective communication and appropriate status awareness.

  • Serves as a source of information to the IT organizations on the business drivers, processes and organization structure and dynamics of the business area.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in IT business analysis in regulated manufacturing environment

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to drive requirements and project work through to closure

  • Strong MS Office skills

  • Strong interdisciplinary, excellent intercultural influence, and networking skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • 5-7 years’ experience with SAP highly preferred

  • 2-4 years’ experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Systems highly preferred

  • Software Life Cycle (SLC) and/or validation experience highly preferred
