Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage a group of Packaging Engineers.
  • Provide packaging technical support to all packaging sites.
  • Develop a network of experts to keep us at the forefront of packaging development and innovation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, supply chain, Logistics, manufacturing sites, external manufacturing, to develop, transfer and launch packaged products for US and export markets.
  • Provides commercial technical support and leadership at packaging sites including change management, technical investigations, robustness etc.
  • Develop and sustain a harmonized approach to packaging design activities, including material selection, with the best practices for packaging development
  • Collaborate with important partners to provide technical assessments and support for key component changes and investigations
  • Support Regulatory filing activities
  • Serves as the expert for packaging components, controlled temperature and cold chain technology, anticounterfeiting features.
  • Represents the MS&T Packaging Technology in the Company.
  • Employs project management practices for allocating resources, developing project timelines, monitoring progress and communicate project status.
  • Promotes team effectiveness by engaging, encouraging partnership with other team members.
  • Serves as a mentor for junior collaborators in the group for their professional and technical development

Competencies – Knowledge:

  • In-depth Knowledge and hands-on experience of secondary packaging of vials/ devices and parenteral products with knowledge of global regulatory requirements related to design and control of these processes.
  • Ability to use statistical software to analyze process related data to determine process capability or for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Experience with the technical transfer of products
  • Ability to close-out investigations and deviations
  • Work with minimal supervision, while keeping management and partners informed.
  • Knowledge of regulations concerning cGMP, manufacturing, packaging, validation, quality systems, equipment innovations, upgrades, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team to drive issues to resolution

Experience – Responsibility and minimum number of years:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Packaging development and commercial support.
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with competitive landscape, industry trends, and regulatory environment.
  • A complete knowledge of secondary and tertiary component materials/systems is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding of our needs, risks and regulatory implications.
  • Strong different leadership skills and ability to impact matrix teams is required.
  • Good soft skills and excellent overall communication skills are required

Qualifications: Degree/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelors degree in science or a related field
  • At least 10 years relevant experience
