The CI Process Engineer identifies and implements manufacturing/utilities improvement activities and projects in partnership with Operations, Engineering, Technical and Capital Project teams to improve equipment performance, batch cycle time, efficiency, and waste. The CI Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Capital Projects Team in implementing strategic initiatives, including batch cycle time reduction, debottlenecking, and act as a client engineer for large projects.

Ensure highest standards are in place and in use for Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability initiatives; Support and provide effective leadership to drive the EHS Management System to ensure full compliance with regulatory and customer expectations
Manage multiple cross-functional projects from inception through validation; demonstrate the value delivered by these projects through effectiveness checks and pre-determined targets
Perform thorough data analysis on manufacturing performance to ensure the correct areas of improvement are focused on
May be responsible for leading other teams engineers, where required
Evaluate and select new equipment or equipment modifications to support production improvement and batch cycle time reduction activities.
Benchmark capabilities against other GSK sites and external industry standards to ensure best practices are employed
Work collaboratively with cross functional colleagues to ultimately deliver business benefit
Act as an “intelligent client” for large capital project and investments to ensure that the GSK and site requirements are fully understood and met.
Provide process engineering expertise to capital projects to ensure successful implementation and swift start up with minimal delay.
Lead process improvement projects on site, ensuring appropriate engineering change control to deliver robust, sustainable solutions
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
3+ years experience in a process, manufacturing, project or R&D engineering position
3+ years experience in pharmaceutical or regulated industry
3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Master's in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
Clear awareness of process safety risks
Track record of improving products, processes and troubleshooting
Experienced in technology transfer, with an understanding of the product development process
Able to evaluate potential innovative technology areas relevant to product
Proven track record of expertise in delivery of technical risk assessments
Knowledge of GMP requirements
Knowledge of Quality by Design and risk management approaches
Knowledge and experience of using statistics, data analysis, MSA, DoE
Ability to contribute to and effectively influence matrix teams and colleagues in other functions
Operational knowledge of manufacturing equipment
Experience in process measurement technology, automation/control systems, statistical process control or chemometrics
Project management skills
