Position: Associate Director, Statistical Programmer (Ref: 2740)

Duties: Lead complex clinical project teams and vendors to deploy programming strategies, standards, specifications and programmed analysis to comply with regulatory requirements, standard operation procedures (SOPs) and work practices by drawing on experience with SAS software such as Base, Stat, and Graph components; statistical programming and developing computing strategies for statistical analysis and reporting within the pharmaceutical industry; drug development process, clinical trial methodology, statistics industry standards such as CDISC (clinical data interchange standards consortium), electronic data package submissions, and summaries of clinical safety and efficacy, and regulatory requirements; vendor management; and line management. Develop and implement innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming. Develop, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex programs and utilities in accordance with predefined specifications and standards. Lead the electronic submission preparation and review. Develop unambiguous and robust programming specifications such as Analysis Data Model (ADaM) specifications. Review planning documents such as statistical analysis plan, data presentation plan, and data review plan to align with project objectives and ensures clarity and completeness of programming assumptions and requirements; Assess document robustness and impact on programming activities. Drive, identify, lead, and support opportunities to enhance processes and technology. Communicate proactively and effectively around issues and risks and contributes to its remediation. Recruit, manage, develop, evaluate, reward, motivate, and retain direct reports, resulting in an increasing level of capabilities within Global Biometrics and Data Sciences. Conduct objective setting, performance check-ins, and year-end discussions in compliance with Bristol Myers Squibb policies; aligns objectives, feedback and performance evaluation with managers. Meet regularly with direct reports, focusing on project updates, development needs, issue resolution, and provide real-time coaching and feedback; hold staff accountable for quality and timeliness of programming activities and ensure staff is compliant with training requirements. Build and maintain a network with stakeholders and peers to ensure cross-functional strategies and objectives intertwine and build upon each other to achieve results. Act as extended member of Statistical Programming Leadership Team in sharing and building up the line function vision.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related field plus 10 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above. 10 years of experience must include a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
