The Director of Field Reimbursement, will play a key role in the development and management of our broad patient access support services and reimbursement strategies for the BMS Immunosciences Franchise. The Director will oversee, coach, and build a team of dedicated Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs), to support patient access.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and leading a team of Field Reimbursement Managers to provide reimbursement education to health care provider offices.
  • Coordination of services between HUB, Clinical Vendors, Specialty Pharmacies, and Centers of Excellence.
  • Lead and collaborate with internal appropriate home office personnel to create effective reporting and analytic dashboards to measure program performance and case resolution.
  • Identify customer, access, and program performance trends that require escalation
    and follow through to resolution.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with BMS business partners in Sales, Market Access, Trade, and Marketing teams.
  • Work across US Value, Access, and Payment to assist with resolution of program escalations.
  • Work in conjunction with privacy, legal, regulatory and compliance personnel.
  • Ability to manage greater than 50% travel.

Qualifications and Experience we look for in a candidate:

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree a plus. 5-7 years prior experience in a similar role within the Market Access organization.
  • At least 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with a minimum of 3 years people management experience. Expertise in claims reimbursement, including billing and coding; managed care coverage processes and practices; distribution and dispensing of specialty pharmaceuticals; and all aspects of patient support/HUB services.
  • Expertise with Multiple Sclerosis, Gastroenterology, or Inflammation and Immunology pharmaceutical products is preferred.
  • Strong track record of talent acquisition, ability to identify and hire high performing individuals
  • Ability to coach and lead Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) to execute the implementation of National/Regional direction
  • Understanding Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review processes at a pharmaceutical manufacturer
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for manufacturers in the pharmaceutical space. This position is field based (remote) and requires greater than 50% travel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in payer (Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and Private) policies, reimbursement process / coverage, Specialty Pharmacies, and health care legislative environment.
  • Experience working with Healthcare Practitioners and ancillary staff in a reimbursement role.
  • Ability to strategically develop simple solutions around complex needs.
  • Ability to create and maintain program documentation including SOPs, work instructions, field coaching reports and training materials.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing and hiring field reimbursement teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytic skills.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate problems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline driven, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to gain consensus on solutions across multiple functions.
