Job Description
The Behavioral Health Clinical Liaison supports the state Medicaid plan by outreaching members, interfacing with behavioral health providers, and being the subject matter expert for their region. A primary duty in this role is the clinical management of mental health services and ARTS benefits through the utilization management process. Incumbent also provides a consultative function regarding behavioral health issues to care management team. Position facilitates training on topical behavioral health issues to member facing staff at plan.
This position is a leader who may participate in local, regional and state level stakeholder meetings.
Position serves a variety of functions in the plan including as subject matter expert, consultative to care management staff, and participation in stakeholder meetings.
There will be some travel within the service area, generally less than 10%.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 55,300
Maximum: 118,900

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications
3+ years community mental health work experience required
3+ years of experience serving chronically ill populations with mental health and Substance Use Disorders required
Must possess an unrestricted and active state of Virginia license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)
Must be a Virginia Resident
Must possess a clean driving record, valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation for field work in either Northern Virginia OR the Tidewater region.

Preferred Qualifications
Managed care work experience
Demonstrated ability to form and maintain collaborative working relationships with community based mental health providers
Knowledge of Virginia Department of Medical Assistance (DMAS) regulations related to behavioral health and substance use services
Prior experience providing behavioral health training
Behavioral Health care coordination and/or care management preferred

Education
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Human Services.
