What you will do

Amgen’s Enterprise Corporate Affairs team has engaged in a multi-year effort to enhance its communication capabilities as part of an effort to increase brand awareness and build its reputation. Developing a capability to general world-class video content is central to this effort. Amgen, a large independent biotechnology company focused on delivering medicines to seriously ill patients, has invested in two state-of-the-art, digital production studios, and we are looking for a Studio Manager, Producer/Editor to own the space.

If you are a storyteller and problem solver, able to take complex or abstract concepts and make them understandable and relatable, while working with technical teams and digital technology and balancing complex schedules with C-Suite executive, then this is the position from you. As the Studio owner, producer, DP and editor, you will be responsible for filming executives at Amgen in a number of formats for a variety of channels as well as managing the space, scheduling its use and filming in other locations around the campus. You will be part of a larger content development team made of writers, motion graphic designers, social media experts, and technologies responsible for developing content to support live events, social media and digital channels, internal communications efforts, leadership meetings, and more. The idea candidate have the ability to interface with senior leaders throughout the organization, to work under tight deadlines, and consistently create high quality video content on a variety of subjects.

This is a full time, on site position at our Thousand Oaks, California headquarters.

  • Bring stories to life that showcase employees at various levels throughout the organization including our senior most leaders, profile the patients we serve and the challenges they face, and capture the complex research and manufacturing work of the company.
  • Film, edit, and produce videos, including executive interviews, live and pre-recorded digital interviews, event opens, executive meetings, large WebEx meetings, panel discussions and CEO broadcasts
  • Work with and manage external resources for a variety of preproduction, production, and postproduction needs
  • Collaborate closely and cross-functionally to translate creative briefs and requirements into compelling videos
  • Work alongside fellow multidisciplinary creatives to define and elevate the Amgen’s brand with video and animation

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree


Master’s degree and 2 years of editing, production, or post-production experience


Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of editing, production, or post-production experience


Associate’s degree and 10 years of editing, production, or post-production experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of editing, production, or post-production experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of experience in editing, production, post-production, either at a post-production house or in-house creative team
  • Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of all types of video production
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism
