What you will do

In this vital role you will lead a Software Product team of Engineers and Analysts to design, build, scale and mature healthcare provider and patient identity management capability that simplifies and personalizes their engagement across the many digital channels and services our customers access for information and assistance. Your remit is to focus on developing technology capabilities our customers trust and can easily navigate whether they are signing up for the first time or returning for follow-up information on one of our websites or a virtual interaction. This is a global, multi-functional team that in collaboration with other software product and platform teams will develop and mature new digital product capabilities as part of the highly visible Customer 360 transformation.

As an Information Systems Senior Manager you will:

  • Lead and be accountable for the agile Customer Identity Management Product team and the technology systems

  • Drive robust product prioritization and governance via PI planning with business leadership

  • Build and manage the product roadmap and secure necessary investments; manage product TCO, budgets and forecasts

  • Implement a robust DevOps pipeline for the product using Amgen’s CI/CD frameworks and tools

  • Drive a Product First mentality among the team and peers with a goal towards global expansion of the product’s capabilities

  • Produce robust, reliable, and secure software products following Amgen’s software development, operating procedures and organizational change requirements

  • Unblock and drive engagement to improve results delivery for the team and the organization

  • Drive external software product and service partners to deliver excellence

  • Develop and mentor the team for higher performance and individual career growth. Act as a role model demonstrating leadership behaviors

  • Serve as a SAFe coach for the team and mentor them in Agile product delivery; demonstrate and serve as a mentor for Lean-Agile Leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience


Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience


Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience


Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience


2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability working in software product management/development in a technical leadership capacity with experience in working across Product and Platform teams

  • Prior experience in leading technical teams and building omni-channel solutions atop SalesForce and AWS. Experience with leading application development in ForgeRock is a strong plus

  • Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact

  • SAFe Certification(s) and Lean-Agile Leadership experience

  • Technical experience in commercial pharmaceutical information ecosystems and architecture to guide and mentor software and data engineers

  • Test automation and DevOps experience; exposure to complete product development lifecycle in Agile / Scrum and DevOps environments

  • Experience with industry engagement to advance thought leadership, peer networks, and expertise to develop product technology roadmaps

  • Experience with sourcing and managing vendors for software product build and DevOps services

  • Resilience in working in a dynamic environment at the speed of business
