Digital Product Manager - Operations Advanced Analytics

Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

You’ve earned your degree. How will you use that achievement to reach your goals? Do more with the knowledge you’ve worked hard to acquire and the passion you already have. At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies, reaching over 10 million patients worldwide. Become the professional you are meant to be in this meaningful role.

Digital Product Manager - Operations Advanced Analytics

What you will do

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role on the Operations Advanced Analytics (OAA) team, you will lead the advancement of our real-time data platforms to achieve Amgen’s digital plant ambitions. In addition to developing strategic elements of the digital plant design, this team is responsible for applying predictive models and advanced control techniques to improve the way Amgen runs its global manufacturing plants. Our projects reimagine the way we consume, analyze, and derive meaning from real-time process and equipment data. To do this well, we must influence the way foundational data systems are designed and develop modeling assets (models + supporting infrastructure) that build on these data systems to deliver useful products to a diverse set of customers across the Operations organization.

The Digital Product Manager will serve as the business owner of digital systems used for real-time monitoring, prediction, and control, overseeing both strategic and tactical components of these systems. In this role, you will be at the center of a dynamic relationship between the business, our systems, and the data in our manufacturing plants. You will need to balance the current needs of a diverse set of stakeholders with the future needs dictated by Amgen’s digital strategy. This requires close collaboration with our OAA teammates, the Operations organization, and our partners in the Digital Technology & Innovation team, and an ability to build a deep understanding of the technical elements of these systems while maintaining a strategic view of their evolution.

This is your opportunity to shape the way Amgen uses digital technologies to reinvent how a biologics manufacturing plant operates. It is a unique, high-impact, high-visibility position with ambitious goals and the freedom to creatively mold the role to achieve those goals.

  • Oversee real-time data strategy in Amgen’s plants. This includes (1) creating a vision for the future of streaming data and a roadmap to achieve that vision; (2) ensuring current and future business needs are understood and met; (3) participating in and influencing related workstreams (such as Advanced Process Control; Real-Time Monitoring; Predictive Maintenance, etc.); (4) evaluating and improving streaming data software and hardware
  • Serve as global business owner and accountable business lead of digital systems used for real-time monitoring, prediction, and control in Amgen’s manufacturing plants. This will initially include the PI Data Historian and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform, and could expand to include other systems in the future
  • Develop and execute digital systems strategy as part of broader digital plant strategy
  • Lead collaborations with Operations Digital Technology & Innovation and Operations business function partners
  • Serve as subject matter expert for real-time data systems and strategy as it pertains to software and hardware investment decisions, integration with other systems and analytics tools, evaluation of new capabilities, GMP usage, and issue troubleshooting

Consideration is open to multiple locations; fully remote will be considered if applicable.
