While we have been improving lives of HIV patients for 30 years, this is an especially exciting time to be at ViiV, as we evaluate novel approaches to treatment and prevention that could further reduce the impact of HIV on individuals and communities.

ViiV is seeking a Senior Director, US Commercial Strategy, Long Acting Injectables to lead development of US strategies to make long-acting treatment standard of care in HIV prevention and treatment. This role will lead across a matrix of functions (market access, sales, medical, operations, legal, compliance, training) and excellent leadership and cross-functional partnership will be critical to success.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Strengthen ViiV’s understanding of customer experience with injectables to enable appropriate interventions that will drive adoption and depth of prescribing, while ensuring we are mitigating risk and doing the right thing, consistently with our values.
  • Identify key levers that could impact P&L of our long-acting medicines and create business cases to assess potential impact in competitive environment.
  • Prioritize the solutions and tactics needed today and unite stakeholders across the matrix to work with urgency to deliver the work that will have the greatest impact.
  • Lead and develop an agile team in implementation of agreed upon solutions and development of key tactics to resource drivers and mitigate barriers, with particular focus on increasing customer ability to acquire and implement long-acting injectable medicines.
  • Monitor and assess progress and resource for the future to ensure long term ambition can be achieved.
  • Provide input to Global Commercial Strategy pipeline team for ViiV’s pipeline to ensure decisions made are fit for purpose for competitive landscape and meet HCP and Patient needs

Based in Raleigh-Durham, NC, the role will report to the VP, US Marketing.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8 plus years of commercial pharmaceutical experience with a minimum 5 plus years of marketing (consumer, HCP, and/or payer)
  • 3 plus years of experience managing a team
  • Experience leading in ambiguity and influence cross functional teams to collaboratively solve commercialization problems
  • Experience developing and maintaining competitive brands, including creating solutions for customer acquisition and implementation of injectables

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA or Masters Degree in relevant disciplines
  • Experience developing non-traditional commercial approaches, including public health partnerships and/or innovative approaches to activating HCPS and consumers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in ambiguity and influence cross functional teams to collaboratively solve complex commercialization problems
  • Knowledge and practical application of compliance acumen
  • Experience developing and maintaining competitive brands, including creating solutions for customer acquisition and implementation of long acting injectables
