What you will do

Amgen's Translational Immunology and Safety Sciences group based in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a dedicated Scientist to join our dynamic team of research scientists. In this vital role, the Scientist will independently conduct immune-related safety assessments to support Oncology, Inflammation and Cardio-metabolic pipeline projects.

In this role, the innovative Scientist will:
  • Design, perform and analyze in vitro assays
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists within the Translational Safety organization and perform literature-based evaluations to support pipeline projects and contribute to project development
  • Communicate and present results to cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of research experience in the field of immunology, immuno-oncology or related field OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of research experience in the field of immunology, immuno-oncology or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD or MD in the field of immunology or immuno-oncology
  • The candidate should be able to independently initiate and drive projects, and intellectually contribute to project development
  • Prior experience performing cellular immunological techniques, including in vitro immune cell assays, multi-color flow cytometry, and ELISA/MSD
  • The candidate is encouraged to have basic immunology training and strong cellular immunology and cell culture technical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and highly motivated, creative and collaborative
  • Demonstrated a track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology
