Lab Based Associate Scientist, Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism, Immunoassay, Large molecules


The department of PKDM within Amgen is dedicated to the discovery and development of safe and effective medicines by elucidating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME) and pharmacokinetic properties of novel therapeutic drug candidates to improve their pharmacological potential.

PKDM works in close partnership with fields such as protein science, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory to engineer promising clinical therapeutic candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings.

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you as a member of the bioanalytical group will execute bioanalytical and/or biophysical methods for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of large molecule therapeutic candidates.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Immunoassay (MSD, Gyros, ELISA) and other experiments to understand the ADME properties of large molecule therapeutics

  • Generate data for the purposes of defining mechanisms of in vivo clearance

  • Work and being responsible for preparation of samples from plasma, tissues, and other biological matrices, as well as data generation, and analysis within Watson-LIMS

  • Data interpretation and communication of results to project team representatives and electronic laboratory notebook keeping of results


What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master Degree and 2 years of laboratory experience OR

  • Bachelor Degree and 4 years mentioned above experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of protein therapeutics drug discovery and development experience in biotech industry, basic understanding of protein therapeutics pharmacokinetics

  • Experience with assay development, including optimization and troubleshooting

  • Expertise, and a strong interest in evaluating protein-protein interactions using modern biophysical analytic techniques, including reagent preparation, assay development, optimization and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to grasp new concepts and execute experimental procedures with technical proficiency.
