Scientist, Antibody Discovery (R133043)
We are looking for a skilled bench scientist with technical background antibody discovery to join our In Vitro Display Group in Discovery Biologics, Protein Sciences in Boston. Using phage display technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality antibodies or binding proteins for therapeutic programs. They will apply automation methods for efficient selection and screening, as well as high-volume sequencing and data processing. They will analyze in vitro display output and will use recombinant DNA techniques to reformat screening output into the final therapeutic modality. The successful candidate will demonstrate understanding, flexibility, and efficiency in running multiple experiments in a collaborative environment. As a member of the In Vitro Display Group, the scientist would also contribute to the implementation of novel technologies for biologics discovery. Experience in DNA library design and library construction, NGS sample processing and data analysis, and familiarity with antibody databases is a plus for the job responsibilities in this role.
Design and execute phage display campaigns.
Apply automation for screening with a focus on high-throughput ELISA
Bulk sequence analysis using appropriate software
Hands-on experience in cloning antibody gene fragments into expression vectors
Standard molecular biology techniques for phage and DNA manipulation
Expertise in handling large sequence data sets and sequence analysis software.
BS or MS in biochemistry, biology, immunology, biotechnology, or a related discipline with relevant research experience
Hands-on experience in molecular biology and recombinant DNA techniques
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Antibody discovery and high throughput screening in an industrial setting
Background in automated liquid handling
Experience with the use of bioinformatic tools for sequence analysis
Experience with ELISA, Western blot, flow cytometry, cell culture
NGS sample preparation from display outputs and data analysis is a plus
