Associate Director, Maintenance Support

Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility
Reporting to Director of Site Services, directs the staff responsible for providing support services to maintenance and utilities organizations across the site.
They will work with cross-functional teams to effectively and safely deliver efficient and productive services at a competitive cost.
Develops and directs services that include, but not limited to, Maintenance, Repairs, Operations (MRO) storeroom management, Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) data management and craft employee overtime distribution within the site’s maintenance and utilities organizations.
Ensures all operations are conducted in accordance with all company guidelines, cGMPs, OSHA, EPA, Collective Bargaining Agreements and other governing guidelines.
Position will be responsible for coordinating and improving the services provided across maintenance and utilities with the overarching goal of delivering the highest quality standards of performance, productivity, and financial management.
Directs the activities of exempt and non-exempt employees.
Primary activities include, but are not limited to:
Manages and directs the exempt and non-exempt personnel responsible for maintaining the site’s equipment and maintenance history in our EAMS database
Manages and directs the exempt and non-exempt personnel responsible for the oversight and business/financial management of our site’s MRO inventory across numerous storerooms in full compliance of our financial policies
Manages and directs the exempt and non-exempt personnel responsible for the overtime distribution across the site’s maintenance and utilities organizations
Responsible for developing, measuring, and implementing new methods, improvements, and cost effective programs in the area of his/her operations
Stays current with and evaluates new business opportunities, technology, and best practices/benchmarking (both internal and external) from an operating perspective. Makes recommendations to incorporate these opportunities where applicable and manages/sponsors the implementation of these opportunities
Manages effective internal and external business unit communications. Proactively seeks out and assists in clarifying the needs of other business unit members, and customers
Manages the development and administration of safety training, development/review of SOPs, and other training procedures or job aids for hourly and exempt personnel
Oversees the development of standard operating procedures and work processes for the services delivered. Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring appropriate service levels are maintained
Participates in the recruiting, selection, and professional development of staff
Assists in the development and management of departmental budgets
Administers labor relations policies and practices within the framework of existing labor agreements and company policies
Provides partnership and develops critical business relationships with the site’s Integrated MRO Supplier to enable and enhance efficient procurement strategies for all MRO purchases.
Undergraduate Engineering/Technology, Business, or equivalent degree required
Minimum 7+ years in people management position with demonstrated experiences in maintenance, engineering, customer support services, and/or other business environments with demonstrated applicable technical and managerial success. Experience must include responsibility for labor relations management.
Computer skills using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) and operation of other peripheral devices
Technical problem solving abilities
Business Ownership and Personal Accountability
A working knowledge of maintenance costs, financial systems and analysis, and regulatory/Corporate policy standards is required
Excellent verbal and written communications, organizational/follow-up/control and leadership/employee development/teamwork skills are essential
Ability to handle and prioritize a large number of projects simultaneous
