Position Description:

The Associate Director (Financial Planning & Analysis) FP&A will provide both strategic financial evaluation and analysis support to the Vaccines Value Chain Management Teams (VCMT's). This role reports to the Director of our Manufacturing Division's Global Vaccines Operations (GVO) Finance and receives broad guidance for assignments, which require an in-depth understanding of accounting, financial analysis, financial controls, a working knowledge of our Company's financial practices and systems, and familiarity with the underlying business of assigned areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial evaluation and strategic finance support for projects impacting vaccines such as new/upgraded facilities, new production and testing technology, and network changes

  • Performs Net Present Value (NPV) Evaluations for various business opportunities including tenders, capital investments, supply chain decisions and developmental investments

  • Develops future cost projections in the context of the wider portfolio & the total cost base

  • Evaluates financial impacts for Risk Authorizations, and providing financial support and value added metrics to relevant VCMT's and Global Sales & Operations (GS&OP's)

  • Provides finance leadership in the Global Sales & Operations (S&OP) process. Ensures optimal level of inventory is maintained, evaluates supply chain risks such as obsolescence or stock outs. Key contributor to the vaccine end to end risk process

  • Ensures that stakeholders have a good understanding of the cost of their supply chain and of key financial concepts

  • Independently works on adhoc special assignments. Able to complete projects and present quality results within the prescribed time period

  • Champion continuous process improvement and demonstrate a lean mindset

  • Develops, pursues, and integrates Operational Excellence opportunities into business

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 7 years of business related experience

  • Experience working and interfacing with clients in and across various functional areas within an organization

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis; comfortable working with Excel-based models

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • MBA/CPA

  • Familiarity with finance planning and reporting and financial systems, such as BPC, LPT and SAP

  • Knowledge of product costing
