Component Engineering Technician (Solid Modelling)

Indianapolis, IN

Our Modelers will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality 3D models through geometry creation and manipulation. Our Modelers will also be able to deliver world class drawings and Model Based Definitions with clear and correct GD&T and PMI. Modelers will work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers. As a Modeler, you will work within a cross-functional team supporting these deliverables.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Geometry creation and manipulation of complex components and assemblies
  • Geometry creation in 2D and 3D environments including General Arrangements
  • Creation of drawings including applying GD&T
  • Supporting supply chain efforts to procure hardware from multiple suppliers by working with Designers and Manufacturing
  • Able to work in and lead team in TeamCenter best practices and understanding TeamCenter structures
  • Completing dimensional tolerance stacks and GD&T calculations, as well as full engine layouts
  • Ability to learn critical blade modeling skills
  • Create 3D geometry for the use in analysis and meshing.
  • Ability to create or learn creation of 2D drawings and Model Based Definitions

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have advanced experience using Unigraphics NX11
  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Graphic Design or Modeling field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in gas turbine engine modelling or similar area
  • Significant experience with Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T), and the creation of limit stacks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
  • An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with NX, MBD, and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5M-1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
