Background & Purpose of the Job

The Innovation Planning Manager is responsible for the on time, in full (OTIF) delivery of new product line innovation launches into the marketplace. The Innovation Planning Manager will partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams in the management of new product line launches and re-launches adhering to innovation guidelines and best practices. To be successful in role, the Innovation Planning Manager must be able to quickly form strong team coalitions, and efficiently lead cross-functional team members through complex project timelines. This includes ensuring up alignment on project activities and timelines, as well as the ability to anticipate and avert typical project pinch points and conflicts that may threaten timely delivery. Leading a team of Innovation Planner(s), the Innovation Planning Manager will ensure that the following deliverables are met: 1) Delivering Innovations on time and in full 2) SAP/Item setup execution 3) Waste mitigation (materials, FG, capex) 4) Continuous Improvement – innovation forecast accuracy, product lead times, etc. and 5) Flawless project hand-offs to production/Supply Planning team.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

As an Innovation Planning Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the management of the innovation timeline and execution

  • Anticipate and escalate innovation project risks back to the business

  • Represent the Supply Chain in Innovation related meetings with other functions across the business

  • In partnership with Strategic Planning team, ensure that the capacity and bandwidth analysis for key suppliers and sourcing units pertinent to the innovation portfolio is complete

  • Prepare Supply Chain inputs for gate documents and decision outlines as needed for the project owner

  • Facilitate Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) request process for Innovations where required, partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement

  • Coordinate risk assessments with the cross functional team for new launches

  • Drive the development of action plans to mitigate and reduce risks identified

  • Own and maintain the overall project networks for new variants and operational projects, as required to ensure “on time in full” delivery; by working closely with R&D, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Quality and factories

  • Develop plans to reduce lead times, improve margin over time

  • In partnership with Procurement maintain a Risk and Contingency Planning (RACP) matrix for all key raw/pack materials and ensure that risk mitigation actions are in place for the innovation projects within your portfolio

  • Support transition/flawless hand off from supply chain innovation to steady state supply planning

  • Support complexity reduction activities and sourcing analysis for innovation projects by working closely with Strategic Planning and Finance

  • Lead timeline and execution of new sourcing sites at contract manufacturing or imports

You’re a dot connector: Able to pivot and make up gaps in a project timeline to ensure that the Innovation is delivered on time and in full.

You’re a storyteller: Explain, present, and strategically influence key stakeholders for continuous improvement activities & different WOWs that will take our business to the next level.

You’re a culture & change champion: Provide motivation and lead by example, building a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Education & Training: Bachelor’s degree – preferably in a supply chain or engineering field, Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • 5-7 years’ experience in supply chain with a clear competence in project management and operations.

  • Strong understanding of core supply chain processes: order to cash, planning, procurement, warehousing and transportation.

  • Ability to quickly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
