Prudential is on a journey to transform our global payment services (disbursements and collections) with a focus on modernizing our current technology platform and a vision to provide a comprehensive solution that can support all disbursement payment types (money out) as well as support all collections (money in).

The initial scope of payments initiative is focused on replacing several legacy systems with a modern payment platform supporting all current domestic payment types, with a vision to support newer payment rails such as Real Time Payments, Zelle, Paypal/Venmo and broad support for International payments.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design sessions to identify/document technical solutions.
  • Develop software programs as needed to support the business and technical objectives and provide guidance/leadership for the other software engineers on the team.
  • Perform/manage developer, integration or quality assurance testing of software components in support of the overall project deliverables.
  • Support the deployment of software components through the development, test and production environments following Prudential standard SDLC practices/procedures.
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting/repair of software defects, across all environments to ensure the system(s) are operating efficiently.

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on developer experience working on one or more technical platforms, including development on Java, [Register to View] or other modern language platforms. Experience developing web applications, web services, windows services and/or batch processes.
  • Experience implementing and supporting SaaS/Cloud software solutions including developing/supporting functionality to integrate with internal Prudential systems or other 3rd party platforms. Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud architecture/design desirable.
  • Experience working with one or more relational database platforms such as Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Proven track record managing a team of developers in an Agile environment.
  • A creative and analytical problem solver focused on translating complex business problems into architecturally sound technical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, leadership, and business partners.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Business knowledge in finance/treasury/payments highly desirable.
