Associate Actuary (Virtual) (R-108562)

The Group Insurance Valuation team provides valuation and analytics for the Group Insurance Business Unit. The team performs valuation of all group liabilities, including Disability and Life products. This position will work on liability projections used for various purposes, including Asset Adequacy Testing, stress-tests, required capital, and Asset Liability Management. The position will also be involved in various ad hoc analyses; possible examples include reinsurance analyses, assumption impacts, forecast, and IAIS reporting.
A key part of the role is developing an understanding of the group insurance business, how the actuarial results link to the overall results of the business unit and explaining results and drivers to our business partners, including Finance, ALM, Treasury, and the Product teams.
- Bachelor's degree required
- ASA required; FSA designation is preferred
- Five or more years of actuarial work experience is preferred
- Experience in valuation or pricing of Group products is preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills are required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with MS Access and Python is preferred
Open to remote/virtual location outside of commutable Newark, NJ location.
*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. Salary range specific to Colorado: ($108,000 to $153,400) + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
