About the Team:

Walmart Global Tech (WGT) is the recently formed organizational engine powering the once-in-a-lifetime transformation of Walmart's second act in retail disruption. We are designing and reshaping how Walmart does business in 21st century, building from the storied legacy of our past, but centralizing technology at the core of how we do business in the future.

The GT Strategy and Commercialization team in Walmart plays the central role in the development, management, and expansion of Walmart's global technology footprint. We are a small but influential group of product and technical leaders who shape Walmart's vision of tomorrow into actionable strategies for today. Daily, we partner across all of Walmart's business segment and horizontal technology teams to implement those strategies, drive accountability, and evolve technology's way of working. As the bridge to Walmart's senior executive leadership team and Board of Directors, we are key to unifying and accelerating the Walmart flywheel.

Walmart's GT Strategy and Commercialization team is seeking a seasoned operational-minded leader to...

  • Shape how WGT operates and evolves its way of working with all the horizontal and segment technology teams to support future growth;
  • Manage and influence WGT L3 leaders and their Chiefs of Staff to accomplish various objectives for Global Tech's CTO;
  • Streamline/optimize operations across Global Tech executive support to maximize consistency of various meetings and processes, while minimizing work required to support those activities;
  • Build, operationalize and evangelize .

You'll sweep us off our feet if you:

  • Are a creative, passionate strategic thinker with a proven track record of analytical, data-based decision-making to drive measurable results solving complex challenges;
  • Have built customer-centric products and developed processes with a zealous Lean Startup philosophy;
  • You are a skilled active listener, excel at summarizing information, and identifying key take-aways and areas of focus
  • You're a natural project manager, you are organized, plan, follow-through, and communicate
  • You are passionate about fostering healthy communication, inspired leadership, effective management and outstanding teamwork
  • Demonstrate a history of aligning and delivering buy-in across a wide variety of senior executive leadership and their staff by taking complex technical topics and distilling them into relatable, easy-to-understand language;
  • Have a history of leading from the front as a Rockstar operational leader organizing structure, process, and cadence around the ever-dynamic of senior executive leadership demands.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners (e.g. HR, Finance) within and across the organization by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership.
  • Managing the operating structures for the team including Leadership Team (LT) meetings.
  • Looking left to right across the business area to draw out insights, drive efficiencies and solutions to business problems to ensure the team is setup to meet business goals.
  • Business Planning: Manage team participation as needed in strategic business planning activities, offsites, LT meetings and agenda, including follow through, action tracking, and related communications. Participate as a valued LT member who can offer synthesized business perspectives relevant to influencing key strategic decisions.
  • Communications: Plan and manage team meetings including All Hands, staff meetings, etc. Maintain communication vehicles to ensure leadership messages are communicated to the field and field feedback is provided to the LT.
  • Special Projects: Drive high-impact cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and ensure the team is achieving commitments. Successful project management, including work with internal SMEs, and sometimes external agencies, on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10 years-experience leading cross-functional teams and results in a large, matrixed organization, with experience across multiple disciplines
  • Project/program management leadership including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, communications, procurement, human resources, and integration management
  • Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
  • Ability to rapidly gain/build trust and confidence of internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications...
