About Our Team:

SaFE (Sam's Fraud Prevention Engine) team is primarily a machine learning (ML) and data engineering team with the mandate to build cutting edge ML models to identify and prevent fraud, keeping our customers and organization safe.

Your role...

As Data Engineer for Fraud Prevention Modeling, you will be a hands-on expert and a thought leader using Data technologies in highly critical business use cases (such as Fraud), generating insights and features from data, preparing data pipelines for analytics and modeling, ensuring data quality and data governance by meta data management, data model and dictionary development. anticipate and manage risks and implementing best practices.

As a core member of SaFE team, you will be at the forefront of the ongoing effort to enhance Sam's Fraud prevention ML capabilities to the next level.

Our ideal candidate should meet the following expectations...

Technical Experience and Skillsets:

  • The most critical ability we are looking for is your capacity to grasp new concepts/technologies and employ your skills creatively in solving problems and leveraging available opportunities and resources for creating state of an art product/solution
  • 2 to 5 years of data engineering experience, preferably supporting data science/ML with experience in MLOps (building testing, deployment, and monitoring pipeline to support high speed and quality ML model development, deployment, and tuning).
  • Experience in development with Python (andits Packages); will prefer experience in data science languages such as R
  • Ability to conduct data analysis, POC's and prototyping
  • Ability to identify best solution options and approaches best suited for a given business scenario/use case for data engineering.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of cloud-based application architecture, REST API, Microservice protocols and interfaces
  • Data Engineering Experience - Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL and Elastic Search, data preparation for analysis and model creation, SQL scripts for Batch jobs, while ensuring data quality
  • Experience with enterprise data warehouse/lake/hive and structured/unstructured data sources
  • Good understanding of data models and architecture diagrams; experience designing high speed in-stream data pipeline in an enterprise cloud ML deployment
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in developing and deploying MLOps processes and pipelines in managed cloud environment such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and MS Azure etc.

  • Comfortable in working with Business and Product Management team, can develop good understanding of business requirements and use cases.
  • Ability to understand the bigger picture (for business use case and value proposition) and translate them into ML product features or solutions options.
