We strive for excellence, simplicity, clarity, and impact in everything we do.Role:We are looking for a dynamic, strategic leader with a passion for blending communications and marketing in ways that inspire audiences, energize brands, and grow businesses.The Vice President, Communications (Brand & Marketing) will develop communications strategies that advance Prudential’s brand and bring to life the company’s purpose, vision, and strategy for growth. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of brand management, communications and marketing, and a proven ability to drive brand awareness, relevance, and engagement through multiple forms of media.The leader in this role will partner with the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Brand Officer, and with Prudential’s Chief Communications Officer, to shape the activation strategy for Prudential’s global brand, and to devise and implement integrated marketing communications campaigns that leverage multiple forms of media: Paid, earned, owned, social and shared. The Vice President will draw on the expertise of colleagues across the company’s Marketing and Communications organizations and oversee the work of relevant agency partners.This role reports into the head of Communications for the Retirement and Insurance businesses, who also oversees the partnership with Prudential’s Marketing function.Skills:
  • 15+ years of experience in Communications, Branding and Marketing, in an agency or corporate setting.
  • Ability to translate brand strategy into integrated marketing communications campaigns that drive results and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in earned media relations and a proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with journalists and media organizations
  • Proven track record of crafting effective communications programs that leverage established and emerging media channels and platforms, influencers and third-party spokespeople, partnerships, sponsorships, and events.
  • Creativity: Sees connections that others do not, successfully applies ideas drawn from seemingly unrelated contexts, and generates a wide array of useful solutions to solve problems.
  • Collaboration: Exemplary collaboration skills coupled with a mindset of continuous learning. Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, achieve results through partner teams, understand audiences and ecosystem and leverage communications model
  • Business Acumen: Applies knowledge of the larger organizational environment to work, manages resources efficiently, and considers the impact of decisions on other parts of the business.
  • Outcomes Focus: Prioritizes projects that directly support business objectives and that Communications can add clear value to, and within those projects prioritizes the tasks most important for achieving project outcomes.
  • Persuasive Influence: Thoroughly resolves conflicts, negotiates win-win outcomes, and successfully gains buy-in even for complex projects. Strong executive presence, business savvy, and ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Communications Coaching: Coaches colleagues and business partners in core communications skills and strategies when needed and works to facilitate best practices in communications organization-wide.
  • Channel Management: Selects good channels for our organization to use, mixes them effectively for communications campaigns, and quickly adjusts that mix when necessary to achieve project outcomes.
