Job Summary :

Leverage Lean Six Sigma methodology to optimize end to end supply chain’s productivity, efficiency, safety, quality, and customer service standards. Utilize DMAIC process and LEAN Methodology to establish, quantify and predict the impact of proposed process changes.

The Continuous Improvement Manager is the manager of the Lean Supervisor and partners to coordinate Lean activities within the distribution center adhering to Supply Chain Lean principles or practices as managed by the HQ Lean team.

Job Responsibilities :

  • The Continuous Improvement Manager leads DMAIC projects with the use of Six Sigma methodologies. Projects are aligned with senior management and when applicable inclusive of a cross functional team to deliver efficiency and savings
  • The Continuous Improvement Manager guides the local Lean Supervisor to inculcate a Lean Culture by actively supporting process improvement opportunities and encouraging the involvement team members and operations management in process improvement work and projects
  • Seeks to identify continuous improvement projects that deliver operational impacts and aligned with the strategic plans of the Supply Chain with financial benefits vetted with corporate finance
  • The Continuous Improvement Manager leads the local DC management team and Lean Supervisor in organizing, reviewing and scheduling process improvement events
  • Continuous Improvement Manager creates and provides reports on project progress, milestones, savings and other key aspects of active projects. Report outs will be conducted at multiple levels of senior leadership
  • Participate in the selection and coaching of WLSS Green Belt candidates from the operation leadership team
  • This role is a teacher, mentor, and coach to others. Develops and mentors a direct reports through training, informal coaching sessions and the performance management process. Develops and maintains employee morale while ensuring the team is appropriately trained on the required competencies.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience in either a distribution or manufacturing environment OR High School/GED and 6 years of experience within either a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification or in pursuit of Black Belt certification with completion within 12 months of starting the Continuous Improvement Manager position
  • Project management experience
  • Experience at an advanced level with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • At least one year of experience with the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and completion of process improvement projects.
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Black Belt certification from an industry leading Six Sigma training provider whose certification process requires the completion of two projects
  • Experience influencing others without formal lines of authority
  • At least one year of Lean experience in manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Experience with work measurement, time studies and the creation of SOPs.
  • Experience at an advanced level with Access and Visio software
