Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Director of Corporate Social Media Strategy will set the strategic vision and lead the team responsible for the day-to-day management of social media handles - including Walmart , @WalmartInc , Walmart World , as well as senior executives - under the stewardship of the Digital Strategy and Brand Engagement team, which is part of Global Communications at Walmart. In this role, you will not only help shape the future of retail but monitor, provide counsel and respond to issues the world is watching. Exceptional judgement, proactive vision-setting, cultural awareness and creative thinking are paramount to this role. Working closely with our partners in Communications, Marketing, Creative and Global Tech, this role's top priority is leading the team responsible for amplifying unforgettable stories and extending the impact of communication campaigns targeted to Walmart's customers, associates and stakeholders.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Directing social strategy, vision, voice and execution while maintaining an exceptional eye for details and proactive opportunities to engage
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing team while curating a collaborative environment where social media managers are empowered to explore their creativity and own their responsibilities
  • Providing expert counsel to business and communication leaders in dynamic conditions, as well as scaling social media best practices to associates at all levels
  • Constructively challenging conventional approaches by generating, testing and learning from bold ideas that break through and resonate with followers

  • You have a consistent history of ownership, proactive problem-solving and strong attention to detail
  • You're a natural leader who can play an active role brainstorming and expressing rationale confidently in real-time
  • You have a track record of building successful cross-functional partnerships, including agency support, at scale
  • You are comfortable taking creative risks and have a history of demonstrating sound judgement in risk-taking
  • You have robust experience in building and sustaining serialized content/campaigns with global perspective
  • You are an unwavering professional with strong executive presence, capable of giving and receiving feedback, as well as succeeding in dynamic work and social media environments

Minimum Qualifications...
