In this role, you will influence Prudential’s success by helping colleagues leverage enterprise data assets to full capacity, build organizational intelligence around data, and turning data policies and standards into systematic and effective business practices that enable help customers achieve their financial goals.

Enterprise Data Domain Stewards, part of the Data Management and Governance team, contribute to the formation and execution of a robust, scalable, and sustainable data governance framework; usable, effective data policies; and data standards that help Prudential get more value from its data through:

  • Improved data quality
  • Improved efficiency / reduced rework
  • Robust controls in the support of data security and privacy
  • Minimized the risk of regulatory/compliance failures
  • Optimized efficiency in data access and utilization

The initial focus of enterprise domain stewardship will be the customer, contract, and distribution domains.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with business stakeholders and subject matter experts, manage organizational intelligence around data by document a comprehensive understanding of data at the domain level
  • Develop strong working relationships and cultivate trust across the enterprise through reliable problem-solving approaches for data challenges
  • Champion training and cultural changes that enable Prudential to leverage its data for business opportunity
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to address questions and issues related to effective management of data within and across domains
  • Develop and support the implementation and auditability of policies, standards, and guidelines for improving data quality, security, privacy, and metadata management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document the Enterprise domain model (e.g., Customer, Contract, etc.), and identify the relationships between the domain model objects, source system(s) and associated data, including hierarchies and control points
  • Contribute to the Data Quality team’s work in measuring and monitoring domain-level data quality and the Data Governance teams work in building data intelligence
  • Drive process improvements for more effective governance and utilization of domain objects
  • Facilitate action and implementation in response to evolving regulations
  • Stay informed and proactively assess the regulatory landscape from a data perspective
  • Support Risk and Control partners to ensure that the domain data complies with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute domain knowledge and insight to solution architecture efforts; participate in business and project planning to maximize data value.
  • As an expert storyteller, effectively present and generate buy-in and advocacy for data domain strategies, concepts, and actions to stakeholders across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a data stewardship, data management/governance, business analysis, data quality, quality assurance, audit, or process modeling/documentation role
  • Experience with at least one core domain (customer, contract, distribution partner, product, employee)
  • Experience in data-specific regulations (e.g., BCBS239, CPRA, IFRS9, GDPR, HIPPA)
  • Experience in evaluating processes and technologies and making recommendations to senior audiences
  • Strong interpersonal, influence, presentation, and tailored storytelling (both written and verbal) to a variety of audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to understand business needs and translate into requirements and business value (business case and OKRs)
  • Ability to set individual and team priorities and execute to achieve organizational objectives
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, interacting with and influencing stakeholders/business units
  • Eagerness to learn, try new things, and share your experience and knowledge

Good to have experience

  • Experience as an internal/external auditor, data quality specialist, or business/system analyst
  • Experience writing standards, policies, guidelines, and training
  • Experience facilitating groups and gaining consensus on complex problems
  • Experience querying, analyzing, and presenting data in different contexts; SQL experience
  • Familiarity with one or more core platforms within a data domain (SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, ArcGIS)
  • Experience with data related technologies including Informatica, Oracle, data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, and/or Reporting and Analytics
  • Experience in Agile and Lean philosophies and frameworks
  • Exposure to cloud portals (AWS, Azure, GCP)

The salary range for this role is from $144,500.00 to $195,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
