Prudential’s Chief Data Office is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop and deliver BI reports and dashboards for business users. This person will report into the Tech lead, Business Intelligence.

As a BI Developer, the person will partner with the agile product teams and Tech Lead to execute on delivering a solution in alignment with strategy. The BI developer will generate business intelligence reports and dashboards, which will be used for delivering insights and decision making throughout the organization. This person will work collaboratively across Prudential and third-party vendors to deliver tech forward, efficient solutions that are easy to access and supports our customer’s needs.

The successful candidate must have technical domain subject matter experience (Retirement, Annuities, Individual Life, and/or Group Insurance), advance understanding of business intelligence, visualization tools, data analysis, and reporting.


  • Partner with Product Owner, Tech Lead, and developers on team to develop dashboards/reports that deliver business value and generate insights that helps business in decision making.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and deliver BI reports and dashboards that adhere to best practices, and business goals.
  • Interacts with business users to understand BI needs and establish commitments to the business.
  • Ensures accuracy of reports and dashboards through quality assurance
  • Generate data through SQL and other programming languages to develop and automate reports/dashboards at a defined cadence of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually or a completely automated solution with daily updates on data
  • Responsible for scheduling BI Reports/dashboards and performance tuning
  • Prepare data extracts from underlying data lakes/data warehouses for building Reports/dashboards

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
    • Experience working with large datasets, relational databases (SQL) and distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive)
    • Strong understanding of Information design for enhancing user interactivity
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with people at all levels in an organization
    • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
    • Ability to handle multiple projects required
    • Ability to explore creative visual design options to enable requirements that are not met by out-of-box capabilities
    • Excellent communication, listening, and influencing skills.
    • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in R and/or SAS, additional knowledge of other statistical software\
    • Exposure to Visual design principles and User experience a plus
    • Strong understanding of agile methodologies
    • Experience with VBA and/or Power Automate
