Job Summary

The Sr. Java Developer will contribute to Comcast’s Reliability Engineering, Enterprise Application Automation team which is responsible for developing software applications that bring efficiency for various teams, users, application owners. You will be responsible for developing automations using Java and Python programming language.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior developer to a team developing automation solutions.
  • Collaborates with project collaborators to identify product and technical requirements.
  • Conducts analysis to resolve integration needs.
  • Crafts new software applications, customizes existing applications, improve functionality of existing applications, troubleshooting, and fixing maintenance defects.
  • Develops software update process for existing applications.
  • Assists in the roll-out of software releases.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, modular, and reusable code and components.
  • Works with a diverse team of architects, product owners, program managers, and other specialists of varying subject areas.
  • Responsible for high availability and reliability of software applications under team’s ownership
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration skills and demonstrate initiative
  • Other Software development duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years hands on experience building software applications using Java
  • Expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, JavaScript
  • Expertise in Agile development methodologies, software engineering concepts and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to work as part of multi-functional teams.
  • Experience with RESTful Web Services and Micro Services
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
  • Experience with relational databases, No SQL, and a solid understanding of SQL
  • Proven ability to work independently, with validated interpersonal and time-management skills.

  • Experience in Automation tools like RPA, screen scraping
  • Expertise in Observability tools like Grafana, Elastic, Splunk
