Job Description

This position is for a member of the Device Services team in the Repair & Support organization. Our services provide device health for Cable Modems, Home Phone, Wireless configuration and Set Top Boxes. We have over 50 consuming applications including Care and Support, MyAccount and the mobile xFinity app who depend on our services and generate over 20 million transactions per day. We also have a web application which provides device health details at a level that can’t be found in other applications. Our services and web application are critical to providing timely and proactive care of our broadband and TV customers. As a scrum team we work in 2 week sprints and start our daily with a standup meeting at 8:30am MTN to discuss our stories and anything that might be blocking progress. We don’t have a typical product owner but via quarterly planning our scrum master and team manager effectively keep us focused on the priority work needed to be delivered to the business or in support of security and other technical initiatives. At full strength our team will have 5 onshore developers, 2 offshore developer and one tester providing functional and regression testing. Our organization has a group that provides tier 1 technical support with wikis and other documentation to help them resolve 90% or more of operation or production concerns. This means it is rare for our developers to get called to support operational issues outside of normal work hours.

We are looking for someone with 3+ yrs of coding experience with Linux, Java, Web Services and concourse pipelines. Should enjoy working on a fast-paced agile scrum team where we support each other and our business customers to provide reliable and scalable services providing health and actions for many of our customer and business devices. Work may also include some UI development as we are looking to upgrade our JSP frontend to Angular.   • Works with Quality Assurance team to settle if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.

Pay Range: $80,962.20 - $121,443.29

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
