Reporting into the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI), Data Management & Reporting Product Data Architecture lead, this role will be responsible for being the conduit between the Product business unit and various cross-functional technical teams (inclusive of EBI, TPX – Technology, Product, Experience, and many others) to bridge the gap between the business needs defined by key stakeholders/channel strategy leaders and technical needs to enable the initiation and iteration of both strategic and operational reporting/analytics solutions.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact within project working team to fully understand and contextualize business problems and opportunities – via discovery on business use cases and related data lineage in our ecosystem, formal internal requirements gathering/documentation, etc. – attributed to broader project efforts, as well as “business as usual” enhancement requests, in order to streamline and catalyze engagements with external business partners
  • Support technical leads and product owners in developing broader vision/roadmaps, as well as functional specifications for recommended system implementation (i.e. analyzes work processes, data relationships, and business needs to translate into reporting, system and/or business process requirements)
  • Lead business readiness activities for deployment related efforts, including validation (QA) efforts, soliciting feedback from key stakeholders, and supports tactics for end user enablement
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed

Foundational/Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience participating in projects, process documentation, process improvement initiatives, etc.
  • Educational degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Sciences, Data Analytics, or related discipline is required
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of SQL is required
  • Knowledge of business intelligence/reporting platforms (including but not limited to: Tableau, Microsoft Power BI) is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated experience in translating high-level business objectives and strategic imperatives to refined, actionable systems development requirements, as well as the ability to break down complex technical jargon into business context; this person should be able to speak marketing speak to the business and tech speak to developers
  • Experience with data architecture/data modeling concepts (i.e. Kimball dimensional modeling) is strongly preferred, but not required

Business Skills:

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities with the demonstrated ability to effectively learn new business tools and processes
  • Ability to lead and champion end-to-end project workflow
  • Self-motived and works at a high-level independently, even with limited or ambiguous requirements/direction
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile development methodologies will be helpful, but not required
  • Exposure to agile development methodology will be helpful, but not required
