Job Summary

The Communications Project Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and deploying internal and external communications tactics supporting Comcast NBCUniversal's Military Engagement initiatives. The position reports to the Senior Director of Communications, Military & Veteran Affairs and provides the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the company brand, business units, and inclusive workplace culture. The position also requires collaboration with senior leadership, peers, and communications partners, and subject matter experts across the enterprise to build and execute impactful external and internal communications.

Comcast NBCUniversal Military & Veteran Affairs delivers meaningful Military Engagement strategies serving military and veteran customers, empowering military community organizations, and supporting an inclusive workplace for military-connected employees.

Core Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related fields generally requires 3-5 years of related experience.

  • Serve as a key communications subject-matter expert, advising colleagues and leadership on communications best practices across a variety of formats, including digital, social, video, and print.

  • Exceptional organization skills managing a diverse project portfolio.

  • Successful writing and editing experience with a variety of digital, video, and print communications/media.

  • Identify impactful storytelling opportunities that elevate the Comcast NBCUniversal brand among military and veteran audiences.

  • Develop holistic communications plans, including one-off campaigns, messaging development, executive positioning, and thought leadership.

  • Research, identify, vet, and craft compelling military-themed narratives related to digital equity, community impact, DE&I, and military hiring.

  • Manage content production, including presentation materials, social media posts, collateral, executive speeches/talking points, corporate and employee website blogs, and press releases.

  • Support media relations securing earned-media coverage of Comcast Military Engagement initiatives.

  • Provides research and assistance to leadership in the development and design of new projects.

  • Uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. Recommends new process and tools to achieve advanced project management.

  • Manages project status and information in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings and written, electronic and graphic reports.

  • Develops, maintains and manages detailed project plans, action item registers and major milestone timelines for all assigned projects. Creates and maintains process workflow documents to support business needs.

  • Manages all assigned projects to completion ensuring on-time delivery, meeting of budgetary demands and maintaining overall project ownership.

  • Acts as a single point of contact for project status. Maintains communication with stakeholders.

  • Facilitates and leads project meetings.

  • Addresses problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management. Ensures effective implementation of solutions/changes.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Familiar with CXM platforms, like Sprinklr, and email solution platforms, like EmailOpen.

  • Agency and or military communications experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of graphic design a plus.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
