Job Summary

Come to work on Comcast’s best product, our Customer Experience. We are using Big Data and Machine Learning technologies to create proactive problem resolution for our customers. This is only possible by managing petabytes of system data and creating a world class platform to create predictions for the tens of millions of customers that we serve. Helps to ensure a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions. Considers business problems “end-to-end”, including people, process, and technology, both within and outside the enterprise, as part of any design solution. Identifies and drives issues through closure. This role brings to bear significant cloud experience in the private and public cloud space as well as big data and software engineering. This role will be key in the re-platforming of the CX Personalization program in support of wholesale requirements. This person will engage as part of software delivery teams and contribute to several strategic efforts that drive personalized customer experiences across product usage, support interactions and customer journeys. This supports the building of real-time big data platforms, machine learning algorithms and data services that enable proactive responses for customers at every critical touch point.

Job Description

Our Product and Engineering team practices iterative development and continuous deployment. We work in small teams and keep our projects short and focused. Engineers rotate between projects and areas of the product to learn and take on new challenges. As a member of our Engineering team at MLX, you'll be given substantial feature ownership, and we'll expect you to contribute product ideas as well as code. You will be responsible for collaborating within the engineering team and with stakeholders. You can expect to:

  • Build and maintain features in our platform ranging from distributed data processing systems to in-browser data visualization tools.
  • Work with teammates to identify challenging product and engineering problems and then come up with elegant solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a software development environment, including full-time, hands-on application software development experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team of developers and with the testing groups while also successfully managing individual tasks and projects with minimal guidance
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills that facilitate teamwork and interaction with colleagues and internal clients
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills:

We believe in using the right tool for the job and are comfortable with a polyglot codebase. That said, we use the following in various capacities and expect that you are an expert with some, but probably not all of these:

  • Software Development: Object Oriented Language like Java, C++ or C#
  • Data Streaming: Spark, Flink or NiFi
  • Storage: OracleDB, Hadoop, Redis, Cassandra, Druid Neo4J, Neptune
  • Cloud technology experience with AWS or similar
  • 5+ years of experience working in a software development environment, including full-time, hands-on application software development experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team of developers and with the testing groups while also successfully managing individual tasks and projects with minimal guidance
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills that facilitate teamwork and interaction with colleagues and internal clients

Pay range information for the primary location is below.

Pay Range: $115,428.30 - $ 162,000.00
