As a software engineer in the Mercury team, you will work with a diverse team of software engineers, product owners, service delivery engineers, and care-agents to develop, document, and deploy the software that delivers a superior customer messaging interface to Comcast residential, business, and sales agents across the world.

The Mercury Delivery team is a small and fast paced team of premier experts who are innovating accessible, efficient UX design that boosts agent and customer satisfaction scores. We are a team that flourishes with big challenges, results, quality, and agility.
Who does the Mercury engineer work with?
Mercury software engineers collaborate with engineers from many fields: software engineers within Mercury and across Comcast, including AI/ML teams. A Mercury engineer also engages with quality assurance engineers, technical operators, architects, and product owners daily. We’re a small team, delivering software solutions at the leading edge of accessible messaging products.
What are some interesting problems you will be working on?
Mercury’s current focus is on building seamless asynchronous communications between customers and care agents over SMS and web chat. These messages will need to be enhanced by AI/ML integrations so that the end customers get a seamless positive experience that addresses their concerns while allowing the agents to serve more customers concurrently. Accessibility is important for Comcast, and we want to design and deliver a WCAG 2.2 accessibility standard compliant product. We are also building a proof of concept for a Voice product for agents that will further enhance the agent and customer experience.

Designs and develop new software applications, support applications under development, and customize existing applications.
Diagnoses performance issues and propose and implement code improvements
Proves scalability with load generating tools
Ensures the software architecture is lean and extensible
Ensures software modules are reliable for reuse
Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
Here are some of the specific technologies we use for in Mercury:
Backend: Microsoft .NET technology stack tools and IDEs (C# programming language preferred).
Skills & Requirements
BS in Computer Science and 4+ years equivalent experience. directly related experience may be considered in-lieu of degree(s)
Conversant with semantic markup, responsive design, and CSS 3 web layout models such as Flexbox.
Comfortable with (or willing to learn) Microsoft .NET technology tools
Competence in SASS, Angular and React development, and Storybook.
At least 4 years’ software development experience with a recent focus on cloud computing (preferably Azure)

Relevant Work Experience
Pay Range: $84,817.54 - $127,226.31
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
