Primary Purpose

The Revenue Accounting Manager will lead execution efforts to ensure that revenues generated

through the Company’s service business models are recorded and reported in accordance with U.S.

GAAP as well as the Company’s internal accounting policies. This role requires a highly motivated

individual that is able to engage with members of the business in order to understand our product

offerings coupled with a systematic thinker capable of converting knowledge of our product offerings,

internal accounting policies, and US GAAP requirements into system executions.

This position requires working closely with the corporate accountants, technical accounting team,

internal audit, AR shared services team, and business finance team members to (1) ensure accurate

revenue recognition with US GAAP, (2) lead revenue system integration and control improvement

activities designed to bring best in class practices to the organization, and (3) communicate results

effectively with analytical checks and balances while maintaining systems integrity.

This role will be a key player within the corporate accounting team and will work with our technical

accounting team, corporate accountants, and internal auditors. This role is an expansion of our

corporate accounting team and will be reporting to the Director, Assistant Controller. Position will be

in a hybrid work environment with expectation to work in our Westborough, MA corporate

headquarters periodically for larger team meetings only and working remotely from home for the

remainder of the time.

Essential Functions

  • Lead revenue accounting execution activities day-to-day including testing transactions for appropriate revenue recognition and alignment with company policies

  • Coordinate accounting systems integration and improvement activities, partnering with IT, vendors, and other functional teams including AR, cash applications, legal, sales, internal audit

  • Work with billing, cash applications, accounting, and IT to develop and integrate a new order to cash system and process

  • Perform reviews throughout the revenue accounting process to ensure outputs are in line with internal and external accounting and reporting requirements including oversight of billing and credits processes

  • Communicate frequently with key finance stakeholders, from business finance team members to finance leaders

  • Manage monthly revenue accounting close activities in coordination with the corporate and

technical accounting teams and utilizing external consultants as necessary

  • Satisfy internal controls and external audit requirements as it pertains to matters of revenue

accounting and reporting as it relates to businesses on different ERP systems

  • Work with technical accounting team to review contracts for appropriate revenue recognition under

ASC 606. (gross vs. net considerations, variable consideration, proper revenue cut off)

  • Participate as a key stakeholder in relevant Zuora/RevPro/Navision activities and initiatives

  • Perform ad-hoc management related requests and analyses


Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master's degree preferred

  • 5-10 years of experience with preferably 3+ years of public accounting experience, CPA preferred but not required

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP revenue recognition rules and requirements including ASC 606

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and reporting tools (Tableau, Netsuite, RevPro, Zuora a plus)

  • Corporate accounting experience at a public or private company

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to successfully multi-task the management and delivery of multiple complex projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Strong ability to meet deadlines

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
