As a Lab Pack Chemist you will be responsible for the collection and segregation of lab pack chemicals via use of chemical references and disposal facility guidelines. You’ll prepare associated DOT and RCRA paperwork, interface with customers & respond to customer inquiries.

The Lab Pack Chemist will label, load, coordinate transportation & sample drummed waste streams while adhering to heath/safety, regulatory, and client procedures. The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently with little direction, and as a member of the team. Due to the use of a company vehicle to service customer locations, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Chemistry.

  • Experience: Five years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

I. Job Summary

Under limited supervision, leads and conducts research, analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances, for such purposes as product and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Devises new equipment, and develops formulas, processes, and methods for solution of technical problems.

  • Induces changes in composition of substances by introduction of heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts.

  • Conducts research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.

  • Conducts research into composition, structure, properties, relationships, and reactions of matter.

  • Confers with scientists and engineers regarding research, and prepares technical papers and reports.

  • Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
